LIfe Lately - No School And Quality Time

Monday
No school due to flooding from the hurricane
Kids came over to Mom and Dads' house (where I was staying to help mom and be with dad) and played some games - poor Caleb couldn't take it seeing dad so he had to leave.
Ella stayed and hung out and we ate, played games and colored.  I enjoyed an extra day hanging out with my girl!
Family Game Night - Google Eyes
Mommy and Ella vs. Daddy and Caleb - I'll let you guess who won!

Tuesday
No school again - the kids stayed at Mrs. D'Shay's house
Ella with some of her buddies making Halloween crafts
We went out to lunch at Taco Bell cause they love a cheesy roll up!
The kids played at Claire's that afternoon
They had a blast at "Camp Claire" - we joked she was running a daycare!

Wednesday
The kids stayed with Lauren that morning since still no school!  We ran errands and to pick a pumpkin out that afternoon.
Seeing how tall they are at Dean's Farm
Caleb wanted one with a long stem and Ella wanted one with a short stem
Caleb had requested that we paint the pumpkins in Granddaddy's shop but we found these cute kits at Target so we decorated them instead.
Side note - Ella got one of her sticks in too far and we needed to pull it out.  We couldn't do it with our hands and Caleb quickly ran and got the pliers to do it (he knew right where they were).  He said "Stand back, I know how to do this cause Granddaddy taught me everything he knows"
Caleb and his pirate pumpkin and Ella and her kitty cat pumpkin on Granddaddy and Mammy's back steps.

Thursday
Caleb and his lego creations
No school again so more time with preschool friends at Mrs. D'Shay's house
With their "bat hat" - Haley came to play at our house that afternoon

Friday

Kids finally went back to school - on a delay!   Playing in Granddaddy and Mammy's backyard after school
Working on the youth room on Friday night

Saturday
Cheering!
Halftime show
Candy apples from the State Fair - Thank you to Mr. Jackie and Mrs. Wendy!
Caleb won a free hotdog for the dizzy bat competition
Snuggling with this sweet girl before bed

I have spent a lot of time away from my kids this week staying at Mom and Dads but the good news is that the time I have spent with them I have really tried to make it good, quality time and not take it for granted.

  1. Caleb's pumpkin has the longest stem I have ever seen! What a cute idea to decorate them!
