Life Lately - A Blur!

Monday
No pictures it was a blur!

Tuesday
Mrs. Elaine sent the kids a Dairy Queen gift card so we got ice cream after school
Ella was so proud that she read her book all by herself!

Wednesday
Dad went to heaven at 8:48 that morning.  While we didn't get the earthly healing we had hoped and prayed for, we are so thankful for the promise of heaven and that he isn't suffering anymore!

We had over 50 people at my parent's house and so many people brought us meals (Parkers, Olive Garden, Something Different, Chickfila, Italian Pizza and Subs) plus lots of homemade desserts, breakfast items, drinks, paper products, toiletries - we are so overwhelmed and blessed!

We also got an Edible Arrangement - it was pretty and yummy!

Thursday
Another day that was a blur - we had meetings with the funeral home, cemetery, florist, and preachers plus lots and lots of company!

Friday
The sign in Amy Jo's restaurant
Loving her new pumpkin outfit
Mr. Kenny and Mrs. Becky came and got the kids after school and took them to the park and then to McDonald's for supper - they had a blast!
Abbie and Joy brought me and mom the sweetest gifts to remember dad!
We wanted to display some of dad's golf balls and Kent went to the shop and whipped up a golf ball holder for us!  Love how it turned out.

Caleb spent the night with Mammy Friday night.

Saturday
I went to get Caleb and he said he had an awesome night!  Mammy had given him something really special - Granddaddy's pocket knife!  He has also been wearing one of Granddaddy's t-shirts to bed.  This boy has been broken hearted - he really misses his Granddaddy!
We went to view dad's body - and he looked so good!  Caleb and Mammy having a moment.  This was good closure for Caleb and he told me several times how glad he was he got to see Granddaddy again!
One of the memory tables
Another memory table - Crosses for Christmas and some things he made in the shop with the kids
Me, Ella, and Lilly Love at Caleb's football game
Caleb played so good - he was catching balls and pulling flags!
With Mammy
Luke came to watch Caleb
Justin got married - we were sad to miss the wedding but thankful they kept us updated with pictures
Justin was sweet to include dad on the memory table

What a long, exhausting week with lots of tears of sadness but also lots of smiles of great memories!  We love and miss you so much dad - can't wait to see you in heaven one day

  1. Shew. I have chills. What a special thing for Justin to do! And that picture of your mom and caleb looking at the flower...all the feels right now! I've said it plenty of times but MAN DO I LOVE YOUR FAMILY!!! As blessed as we were by JED, he was just as blessed to have you as a daughter, Kent as a son, Melanie and Corey as children, Mama Teri as a wife, and 4 BEAUTIFUL grandchildren. We will remember him forever.
