Her old ones got packed up by mistake.  She picked Sophia sunglasses!

Thursday - We played with Pierce, Lizzie Kate, and Nora

These sweet girls love each other and their babies!

These silly boys didn't want me to take their picture.
This was the best I got!

Resurrection Rolls

We made resurrection rolls to try and help the kids understand the real meaning of Easter.

The marshmallow represents Jesus’ body. White represents that Jesus was without sin.
Jesus died for you and for me, because we have sinned and we need to be rescued from our sin.

After Jesus died, his friends came and they put special oil and spices on Jesus’ body to get him ready for burial.  We rolled the marshmallow in butter (oil) and cinnamon/sugar (spices) to symbolize how his friends got Jesus' body ready for burial.

Jesus’ friends wrapped his body in special cloths–almost like a mummy! Jesus had died, and they were getting his body ready to bury.  We wrapped the marshmallows in crescent rolls to symbolize the burial clothes.

Next, they laid Jesus’ body in a tomb. A tomb is like a big cave carved out of rock. Then big, strong soldiers rolled a heavy rock in front of the tomb so nobody could get in or out of the tomb. They even put a special seal over the entrance so they would know if anybody tried to move the rock that was in front of the entrance. Soldiers stood in front of the tomb to guard it day and night.

We put them in the tomb (oven) and our soldiers stood guard.

We read the Easter story from the Bible while we waited for them to cook.

We cut open the rolls and the marshmallows were gone.
The tomb was EMPTY -  Jesus has RISEN!

The kids enjoyed this activity and it hopefully reinforced the real meaning of Easter and our need for a Savior!
