Life Lately - Last Week of School

Monday
Monday was "C" day at school - crazy hair and cookies.
Ella slept in her braids and we took them down that morning

Tuesday
Kindergarten Celebration Day  - also "B" day for Beach and Bubbles which was the theme of the celebration!
Me and my girl - love spending time with her!
Ella and one of her sweet friends, Madysen
Mrs. Flowers was freeze dancing with the kids in her high heels.  We love her - she is an awesome principal!
Ring Toss
Silly girl looked like Popeye
With her partner for the day, Riley
Bubble Station
Tossing the frisbees in the clothes baskets
Trying to sink their boats
They had 20 stations set up that the kids rotated thru - some were just fun and some included learning.  This station they had to add and subtract the numbers their bean bags landed on.
The classes also competed in some relay races
Ella was concentrating with her egg on the spoon
Relay races with their beach gear - the ring flew off  Ella's head while she was running and she got so tickled!
Some of her friends this year - Kole, Grace and Olivia, Micah, Taleyah and Riley
Squeezing all the water out of the sponge
Run Ella Run!
They also got chips and drinks, watermelon and freeze pops for snacks during the games!
We were supposed to have a picnic lunch but it was HOT!  So we came inside and ate in the classroom and cooled off!
We picked up our teacher gifts - this year I had the kids write the teachers names and we had them printed on a note pad.  We bagged them up and also gave their teachers enough Pelican cones to take their families to get snowcones!  We really had some great teachers this year and it makes me sad for the year to end!

Wednesday
Me and Ella in our new Matilda Jane shirts!

It was 2nd Grade Celebration Day - all the 2nd grade teachers set up 4 stations and the kids rotated thru.
Game Station - Caleb and Grayson playing Bounce Off
Go Noodle Station - Caleb dabbing
These boys had fun dancing!  Wish I had a video!
Ice Cream Station - they got to make ice cream sundaes with lots of toppings!
I helped at this station since it was in Caleb's classroom
Slime Station - of course he picked green!
The kids each got to make their own slime and make it their favorite color
Ready to go with some of his best buddies - Grayson, Kenny and Govin
Mrs. Franks has been a wonderful teacher - she has taught Caleb so much and he is always telling me how nice she is!  She is always very complementary of how sweet and well behaved Caleb is!

End of School Year Celebration at church - Pizza and Game Night
Of course the teens wanted to play Capture the Flag!

Thursday
Last day waking up for school for a while
Yay - last day of school!

Is it really over?

Ready for summer break!  1st and 3rd grade here we come!
Ella's class had a cute graduation and awards ceremony
Her little class is so sweet!  I hate they all might be separated next year!
Sweet Ella Bella - growing up too fast!
Ella got an award for being one of the few in her class that could tie her shoes!
M&M award - for being a "Marvelous and Magnificent" student
She got a reading award for reading at least 100 books this year - and she made reading level E!
She got her K diploma
With her sweet teacher Mrs. Dixon
She has been a great teacher this year!  Ella was super clingy when dad was sick and I was away from home a lot and Mrs. Dixon would always get Ella to help her do something and let me slip out and text me when she was done crying.  When dad passed away I texted to let her know and told her not to think I was a terrible mom but I was going to send Ella to school while we met with funeral home.  I'll never forget her reply "Send me my girl - I'll take care of her.  You take care of yourself and your mama.  You are a wonderful mom".  She also knew dad from when he would eat lunch in the cafeteria with Caleb (cause of course he talked to everyone) and told Mrs. Dixon that he had a granddaughter and maybe she would be her teacher.  Mrs. Dixon often tells Ella how proud her granddaddy would be of her.  She is really so thoughtful!
With her best buddies - Grace, Olivia, Josey and Madysen
All the girls in her class.
Haley loves playing with Ella's hair and Ella always tells me that Taleyah bosses her around.  Now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
Can't believe this girl will be a 1st grader!
Teachers during carline cheering saying "Happy Summer"
This girl rocked Kindergarten - and I was worried most of the year about how she would do since she was the baby in her class!
Caleb's teacher sent him a sweet note home and a letter to parents that made me tear up - they are growing up too fast!  How do I have a 3rd grader???
As soon as they got home they wanted to make the slime Ella's teacher sent home  - what a mess!
Mel and kids came to dinner and hung out that night
Ella Bella crashed snuggling with me

Friday

I organized all their school work, crafts and papers they brought home from school - this is everything I have saved from preschool til now!
